Mettler Center Class Schedule

With three studios and over 80 classes per week, we're certain we have something for everyone. Group fitness classes at Mettler Center combine hard work, an energetic atmosphere, great people and results. Our classes are designed for people of all levels, abilities and ages. Whether you're looking for increased flexibility, toned muscles, or an all-around "calorie burner," we have a class designed to get you there. Group fitness is a great addition to your workout, and our trained and certified instructors are dedicated to helping you reach your fitness goals.

Cardio Classes

Cardio Salsa (45 minutes)

Enjoy low impact, high energy fat-burning salsa dancing. This class combines the sizzle of Salsa and the burn of cardio for all fitness levels. Join all ages as we learn a variety of smooth Latin moves for great calorie burning and overall body toning. Leave this class feeling refreshed and limber.

Complete Mix (45 minutes)

If you love variety, this class is for you. Complete Mix combines great strength moves with high intensity cardio, all in a circuit format. Tone your body with a collection of different moves, keeping you on your toes and moving.

Cycling (45 minutes)

A great cardio workout for all levels of fitness. Performed on a stationary bike, this class introduces proper cycling technique in a motivating and challenging format.

Full Body Challenge (50 minutes)

A challenging and fun workout that combines a variety of cardio sequences with strength training, core work and functional fitness ending with a yoga based stretch.

Fusion (50 minutes)

A fusion of strength and cardio that takes you to the next level! Basic strength exercise and athletic drills are mixed with indoor cycling, running, and circuit training in this fast-moving, no-nonsense class.

Hip Hop Hustle (50 minutes)

Burn up the dance floor and burn calories too! Hip Hop Hustle blends hip hop and dance moves, making them simple and easy to follow! Anyone can do this! This workout feels more like a night on the town than exercise. Drop the pounds and get rapid results while you dance, dance, dance! If you like Zumba, you’ll love Hip Hop Hustle.

Intro to Cycling (30 minutes)

Have you ever wondered what's so amazing about cycling? This class is great for beginners or for someone who wants just a half hour workout. Work as hard as you want. Go at your own pace or level.

Power Hour Cycling (60 minutes)

Power Hour Cycling: Challenge your fitness level with this full hour cycling class. This will be very much like our traditional cycling class just more of it!

Turbo Kick (50 minutes)

Turbo Kick is the hottest fitness craze! It’s an addictive workout that combines shadow boxing, kickboxing, sports drills and simple dance moves in a party atmosphere where losing weight is a side effect of having fun! Furthermore, the format is specially crafted to strengthen and tone the entire body, reshaping every muscle with special focus on the abs and waistline. That’s right, rock your workout and get rock hard abs too!

Zumba (45 minutes)

Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness class that will blow you away. Achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in this exciting hour long class.

20/20/20 (60 minutes)

Try an all-inclusive workout: 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength, and 20 minutes of yoga.

Strength Classes

Body Bar & Bands (45 minutes)

Class is aimed at toning the entire body through the use of body bar and bands. Each exercise will isolate a key muscle to develop strength and definition. This is not a cardio class, but at times might feel like one.

PiYo (45-50 minutes)

This class is all about strength training and core conditioning for people who want to sweat their way to sculpted abdominals, increased core strength and greater stability! This class is for those who color outside of the lines! It’s the perfect fusion equaling strength building rhythmic movement and power, with a foundation in Pilates and Yoga that burns calories while transforming the body. It includes modifications so everyone can participate, yet offers progression to challenge the more advanced. Either way, you’ll get results!

Power Strength (30 minutes)

Make the most of your time in this non-stop class focusing primarily on the upper and lower large muscle groups. This class uses a variety of equipment and offers a different format each time. Although not a cardio class, it may feel like one at times. Agility and balance moves are included along with fun and easy to follow strength moves. Modifications offered for all levels.

Strength Coach (30-50 minutes)

Participants use weights, balls, and resistance bands in various total body strength exercises that improve overall strength, agility, and balance.

Mind-Body Classes

Core Yoga (60 minutes)

A blend of yoga postures and Pilates-based exercises which focus on strengthening the core region of the body. Postures are coordinated with the breath. Pose and a smooth transition between postures will be emphasized. A great workout for improving poise, balance, strength, and flexibility.

Flow Yoga (60 minutes)

Flow yoga is a traditional practice of yoga involving postures that are linked together in a flowing sequence. Sequences involve standing, prone, seated, and supine postures where movement and transition are coordinated with the breath. This yoga practice promotes flexibility, strength, and poise yet is relaxing at the same time.

Gentle Yoga (60 minutes)

Traditional yoga postures presented in a slower paced and more relaxing format with an emphasis on promoting flexibility, poise, body alignment, and balance. Yoga postures will be presented with modifications and use of props to allow for a wide range of abilities and for the use of yoga in promoting recovery from injury. A class that is both restorative, yet challenging.

Kripalu Yoga (90 minutes)

The essential elements of Kripalu yoga are compassion and self-acceptance. Emphasis is on coordinating movement and traditional yoga poses with breath as you learn to identify and release emotional/mental tensions. This style reflects the essence of yoga, doing so in a commonsense practice accessible to all.

Pilates (30-50 minutes)

A popular mat-based, non-impact class for all levels of fitness. Pilates teaches good posture and body awareness, as well as increasing core strength, flexibility, and agility. While not required, those new to Pilates are encouraged to take our Pilates Fundamentals workshop, offered monthly, prior to participation in this class.

Pilates Fundamentals (120 minutes)

This 2-hour workshop is designed as a foundation for safe and effective Pilates practice. Although not required, this workshop is encouraged for anyone entering our regular mat-based classes without prior experience. Pilates Fundamentals will prove to enhance the Pilates experience for both beginning and proficient students alike. This class is offered through Mettler University. Sunset Yoga (50 minutes)

This class is dedicated to helping you unwind at the end of the day.The practice gently warms the body in order to encourage deep stretching and release. A major portion of the class will focus on loosening and relieving tight muscles. Class ends with an extended relaxation period .

Strength Yoga (45 minutes)

This class emphasizes yoga poses that improve strength, stamina, and endurance. Poses are sequenced to promote upper body, core and leg strength. Postures enhancing poise and balance are also included, providing an all-around challenging workout that will leave you feeling energized and agile.

Yoga Fundamentals (120 minutes)

This workshop will offer a brief background of yoga and its benefits for wellness. Participants will learn about different styles of yoga, what to look for when choosing a class, and how a typical class is structured. We will explore basic yoga breathing and poses with emphasis on safe movement and proper alignment. The goal of this 2-hour workshop is to allow the practitioner to feel more confident in joining an on-going yoga class. Beginners and those with little experience are welcome. Senior Classes

Full of Life (55 minutes)

Our older adult focus class that incorporates the best of strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular exercise in a fun, low-impact environment.

PACE (People with Arthritis Can Exercise) (45 minutes)

People with Arthritis Can Exercise is an Arthritis Foundation land-based exercise class designed specifically for those with arthritis or arthritis-like conditions. PACE participants can expect to gain improved range of motion in the joints, balance, agility, social life, self-esteem, mood, sleep, and decreased pain in the joints.

Other Offerings

Abs & Stretch (30 minutes)

All levels of fitness welcome! Improve your core strength, balance and posture. A focused workout with cutting edge abdominal and lower back exercises.

BOSU & Balance (35 minutes)

This is a "well balanced" workout focused on balance and stability. Bosu & Balance is an effective, low-impact, non-cardiovascular workout. A balance test will take place with new participants to determine ability on bosu for safety measures. .

Stretching & Body Alignment (30 minutes)

A class that will focus on using yoga-type postures and stretching exercises to improve body alignment, poise, coordination, and flexibility. Movements will be coordinated with the breath, and relaxation will be emphasized. This class is especially beneficial for warming up or cooling down following exercise.

Jazzercise (60 minutes)

Jazzercise combines a great cardiovascular workout with resistance training and stretching that will increase your muscle tone, flexibility, balance, strength, and endurance using easy-to-follow movements. Each 60-minute class offers a blend of aerobics, yoga, Pilates, and kickboxing movements into fun dance routines set to fresh new music. Qi-Gong (90 minutes)

It is believed that Qi gong's gentle movements, easy postures, and simple meditation techniques bring about a balanced energy flow, with the result being optimum helath of the body and mind. Learn and experience this new, powerful practice.   Member: $80  Nonmember: $80

Tai Chi (75 minutes)

Perform slow, smooth, and gentle movements that integrate the mind, body, and spirit. Improve balance, strength, and flexibility. Leaves you feeling relaxed and energized. An 8-week class.  Member: $48  Nonmember: $62

Tai Chi for Health (60 minutes)

Sun style Tai Chi is known as one of the most effective exercises for physical and mental well being. Sun style Tai Chi strengthens and mobilizes joints and muscles, as well as improves physical fitness and mental relaxation. This particular therapy is suitable for arthritis for its slow and gentle movements that can be adjusted for each participant’s physical condition. An 8-week class.  Member: $48  Nonmember: $62

Fees

Group fitness classes are included with your Mettler membership. Non-members are welcome to attend group fitness classes through the use of a punch card or a single class fee. Punch cards do not expire and are good for any non fee-based class.
